This is a compensated review from BlogHer and Wish-Bone.
Delicious as a Dressing. Remarkable as a Marinade. Now you can get a chance to Upgrade your salads with Wish-Bone Dressings... free! For a chance to win a Wish-Bone Dressing prize pack and a $100 grocery gift card, keep reading.
Growing up, I ate way too much meat and rice, and not nearly enough vegetables. I remember the first time I tried lettuce and tomatoes. I was eleven years old and I nearly gagged! When Alfie and I started a family, I was determined to introduce vegetables to my kids at an early age.
It hasn't been easy, but I'm happy to say that my kids have grown to like quite a decent range of vegetables, both raw and cooked. This year we're working on salads. They'll eat anything covered in caesar, blue cheese or ranch dressing, but I'm an ambitious type-A mom, and I'd love for them to try other kinds.
So I was beyond thrilled when BlogHer asked me to review Wish-Bone salad dressings for their latest campaign and sent us a whole kaboodle of dressings to try. The kids had already been introduced to Wish-Bone Italian dressing a couple of months ago when I made Italian Picnic Chicken and Finger Lickin' Chicken from Gina von Esmarch's cookbook, Taste This! (Gina actually specifies Wish-Bone dressing in her recipes). And I marinated some chicken in Wish-Bone Italian dressing for our first 2 barbecues of 2009 -- so the kids already know that Wish-Bone makes a great marinade. The Wish-Bone Chunky Blue Cheese dressing was a big hit, and I don't think I don't think they would have tried the falafel I served the other night without that bowl of Wish-Bone Ranch dressing to dip the falafel in. The corresponding light versions were great, too; not as creamy but still flavorful.
Getting them to try the vinegar-based salad dressings -- in actual salads, not as marinades -- would be trickier. For the kids' first vinaigrette dressing, I decided to try Wish-Bone's Raspberry Hazelnut Vinaigrette -- I figured they'd be more likely to try it because it has pictures of raspberries on the bottle. I searched Wish-Bone's recipe database for dishes that use this particular flavor, and settled on two salads that I personally love -- Pear and Blue Cheese Salad and Baby Spinach with Warm Raspberry-Bacon Vinaigrette . I set them in front of The Pea, 3Po and Jammy, and let the dressing work its magic.
Delicious as a Dressing. Remarkable as a Marinade. Now you can get a chance to Upgrade your salads with Wish-Bone Dressings... free! For a chance to win a Wish-Bone Dressing prize pack and a $100 grocery gift card, keep reading.
What a success! We made a couple of modifications to the recipe (romaine lettuce instead of mesclun, and walnuts instead of almonds) but the result was still delicious. Alfie said the dressing tasted light and refreshing. He's right; it's not oily at all. The Pea loved the sweet berry taste. 3Po and Jammy were much too busy wolfing down the salad to say anything.
The spinach salad was also a great hit. The kids were a bit dubious about the idea of a warm salad, but once they saw the bacon they dug right in. You know they like it when they realize there are red onions in the salad -- and they keep eating it. Here is a video of my kids scarfing down their plates of spinach salad. As you can see, my boys can barely pronounce "Raspberry Hazelnut Vinaigrette", but they sure can eat it.
The Berry Parfait recipe is definitely a keeper -- and so is Wish-Bone's Raspberry Hazelnut Vinaigrette. My kids love it, and what's more, they're now eager to try all the other Wish-Bone dressings! Thanks, Wish-Bone, for getting my kids to enjoy salad! Would you like to Get More out of your Dressing too? One lucky Bonggamom Finds reader will be selected to receive a Wish-Bone prize pack worth $46.10 -- plus a $100 grocery gift card! Cut up caulifower and broccoli into bite size pieces. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, mix all of it together. Add Wish-Bone Italian Dressing and enjoy!!!!
I am a picky eater and the Honey Mustard Buzz sounds wonderful. I would go to WishBone's and get the recipe for their Chopped Salad with Honey Mustard Dressing. I am for sure going to try that!

I think the Taco Salad Pizza sounds great and the pizza part just might appeal to kids- it's made with the Wish Bone Bountifuls Simple Santa Fe Dressing-
I think you should use the Italian Dressing which is part of the marinade for the Citrus Chicken.
Without going to the Wishbone site my first thought was chicken breast marinated in italian dressing, we do thin is my house all the time. When I visted the site though I realized that there were tons of recipe ideas there. The Asian Noodle Summer Salad sounds yummy! Thanks for the chance.

The Italian dressing over pasta with a few veggies tucked in and their favorite cheese. Bound to be a hit.
Marinate chicken chunks in Fat-Free Italian, grill or roast and serve as is or put them in a pasta salad.
How about the Best Turkey Burgers. It seems to be a fairly simple recipe for summertime. Thanks.
I LOVED their Creamy Italian dressing as a kid - it's the only way I'd eat salad! What about Creamy Italian over some grilled chicken and (dare I say it) broccoli? Think they'd eat that?

ok since the link you posted to check out the flavors lead me no where I will have to wing it. sorry if Wishbone doesn't make the exact flavor but I am sure you can find something close. This is what my son likes... (still tryin to get the older girls to eat salad)..he loves lettuce, red cabbage, snow peas, carrot, shredded cheese, bacon bits, croutons, egg, olives and shredded chicken (not in that exact order) he likes this with ranch, bacon ranch, ceaser, and honey mustard...I like it occaisonly with a tangy vinagarette..so depending on your kids' taste you may want to stick with a variant of what they already love (IE bacon ranch) or try some zip (IE vinagarette).
Of course not knowing your kids and what they like to eat makes it hard to say, but I will base my suggestion on what my kids like in thinking sometimes kids think alike, how does that sound?! I think the Wishbone Wish-Bone® Western® With Bacon Flavor dressing would be great on a freshly made hamburger grilled outside. I would serve it on a soft hamburger bun and use it instead of catsup. I would also add some mild white cheddar cheese to it! I think kids love burgers and I think the texture of this dressing and this wonderful sounding flavor will make the burger even tastier and more delicious! Thanks so much for the chance to enter.

Reading about all those yummy sounding flavors has made me hungry!! Need to go to the grocery store and try some of them.
Honey Mustard Buzz sounds interesting. Wishbone Italian dressing is one of those items I ALWAYS have in the pantry. Of course, there's one in the fridge, but once it's used, the pantry bottle heads to the fridge and I need a new bottle for the pantry. I can't run out of it! I love to marinate skirt steak with it. That's how my mom made skirt steak and I can't break the habit.
My 8-year-old loves the Sweet and Spicy French. It took some doing to get him to try ANYthing other than Ranch, but once he did, he was happy about it!

Raspberry Hazelnut Vinaigrette(I'm hungry) I would try this over grilled fish.

i use the italian as a marinade for a pork tenderloin. marinate it overnight with italian wishbone with a sprig of rosemary...poke and turn it every few hours to get the dressing infused into the pork. then i brown it in a pan on all sides to keep the juice in and then trow it on the grill. Kids LOVE IT soooo tender!
krisemma at msn dot com
Use the Honey Mustard as a dressing for chicken fingers.
For the kids, I would chose "Western Original". Wishbone has all kind of kid friendly recipes like Cowboy Steaks & Caramelized Onions, Quick-Draw Tuna Salad, and Rustler's Meat Loaf.
I think making scalloped potatoes using Olive Oil Vinaigrette would be good.

WOW interesting flavors I think I would like to try the Raspberry Hazelnut Vinaigrette. It sure sounds great. I love the dessert you made with it. I never thought to use a salad dressing for dessert.
If your kids are typical, they should love the sweetness of the original Western dressing-- there's a great looking recipe for Sloppy Joe Westerns at the Wish-Bone site.
Wish-Bone® Sweet 'n Spicy French with bb pork.
lfoster6@cfl.rr.com: I think you should stick with the rasberry flavor for now and try some pasta salad--maybe with shrimp or chicken--and some veggies your kids already like and maybe sneak in one new veggie.

My kids like this:
2 cups of frozen corn (thawed), 2 cups of chopped tomatoes, 1 cup of chopped cucumber, 1/4 to 1/2 cup of Wishbone Italian salad dressing, and 9-10 dashes of hot sauce. Pepper and salt to taste.
This is a great cool salad for the summer months.

We love to dip veggies in the creamy Garlic Ranch dressing - yum!
you can always go with the classic chicken marinated with the italian dressing :)
You can't go wrong with Italian. It's great as a marinade for chicken or on pasta salad.
My personal favorite is chicken marinated in Italian dressing--bet your kids would like it too. Thanks for the contest!
I think you should try Honey Mustard Dressing as a dipping sauce for chicken nuggets or chicken strips. Thanks.
kport207 at gmail dot com
We like the Russian dressing as well--it makes a nice change from the more common Italian or French on salads. Since your kids are getting more into salads with these dressing choices, should probably continue that exploration.

You might try Robusto Italian on a mixture of canned beans (chick peas, kidney, green, cannelini, etc - your choice) chopped celery and onion. Sprinkle with fresh snipped parsley for a great bean salad.
You can use the Wishbone Italian Dressing and make a delicious pasta salad with it. Include chesse or any raw vegetables that your kids like.
My family all love Wish-Bone® Western® Original Dressing...it's spicy-sweet and adds flavor to many dishes. I add it to mayonnaise based recipes such as tuna salad, cole slaw and potato salad......just mix it into the mayo and other dressing ingredients.....it's surprising how much flavor is added.
I think the Creamy Caesar on a Caesar salad; leafy greens, tomatoes, black olives, feta cheese, etc. Great way for kids to get their vegetables. msmith572@yahoo.com

First of all in your paragraph that says "go to wish-bone's website", you have incorrectly linked a site there. (sorry to be the bearer of bad news, you're just missing the hyphen)
Second, I would make my kids a healthy version of beef enchiladas by using the italian dressing from Wish-bone as opposed to veg. oil. Super yum!
I bet the kids will like a pasta salad made with Wish-Bone's Romano Basil Vinaigrette.
Please note your purported link to Wish-Bone lacks the hypen and takes you to something bogus and unrelated to salad dressing.
I vote for the honey mustard buzz on chicken nuggets - (or veggie nuggets)
tvollowitz at aol dot com
The Olive Oil Vinaigrette looks good, is rich in Omega 3s, and is probably a simple enough taste that your kids may enjoy it. So, that gets m vote.
Oh you must go with the Honey Mustard Buzz! My kids could eat Honey Mustard all by itself if I let them.
Thanks for the chance.
The honey mustard buzz sounds amazing. I actually want to try that one. Thanks.

I suggest you whip up a mean Rotini Dish with Wishbone Italian dressing in it. I cook rotini, add brocolli flowerettes, kidney beans, a sprinkling of garbonzos, carrot shreds, and douse with a nice helping of the dressing. It’s really easy to make, delicious, and serves up as leftovers quite nicely. Best part, kids love it!

I think you should cook some wheat pasta, add just a touch of Romano Basil Vinaigrette, and serve with a touch of Parmesan cheese sprinkled on the top! Yummy!
I'm so easy- My thoughts immediately went to the blue cheese with gorgonzola with buffalo wings or the Santa Fe with a chicken topped salad with crumbled up tortilla chips, mexi-blend cheese, corn and black beans!!

I love to cut fresh vegetables such a carrots, celery etc, into small sticks. It makes for a great snack and a secretly healthy finger food for my toddler!
I think you should try the Honey Mustard Buzz on turkey burgers-it's so yummy!

I think you should try the Berry Delight Fruit Salad Parfaits from the Wish-bone web site.

I usuall marinade my meat in dressings. The meat becomes flavorful and tender, and the entire family just loves it!
I think you should try the Western Wishbone Dressing with Bacon and put it in a salad with shrimp dish. It'd have a new mix of flavors
