Capri-Sun Sunrise is Making Every Day Better for moms and kids -- and they're going to make one lucky reader's day even better with a $250 VISA gift card! Read on to find out how to enter.
Is it morning already? Mornings are not my strong suit. My kids are up with the sun, but I stay in bed until I absolutely have to get up. I jump out of bed between 7:15 and 7:20, get dressed, get The Pea up and dressed, get breakfast, pack everyone's lunch, and walk The Pea to school. We have to be out the door by 8:00AM, so it's all a rush rush rush! My morning routine is like a finely-tuned precision instrument: throw a cog in it (like discovering we've run out of juice or realizing that The Pea didn't do her homework the night before), and everything falls apart.
So I gladly agreed to try and review Capri-Sun's great new option for streamlining my kids' breakfast: Sunrise, a new breakfast juice drink . We buy Capri-Sun's 100% Juice and Roaring Waters drinks all the time, so my kids didn't need to be asked twice to serve as volunteer taste-testers. They quickly slurped down one of each of the 3 flavors -- Orange Wake Up, Tropical Morning, and Berry Tangerine Morning -- gave me the thumbs up, and proceeded to benchpress their own weight in barbells made out of Knex. Okay, I'm kidding, but with all-natural ingredients, added calcium and 100% daily Vitamin C in each serving, Sunrise will send them off to a good start and a great day. I'm not kidding about the thumbs-up part, though. My kids loved all 3 flavors (my personal favorite is the Orange Wake Up). And since Sunrise comes in prepacked fun pouches, The Pea can get her own drink in the mornings instead of wasting precious time waiting for me to finish unloading the dishwasher before I can pour her some juice. When my morning routine gets messed up, less fuss means less stress!
Speaking of that pouch, yes, the eco-friendliness of disposable drink pouches is an issue, but I have no problem with enjoying the convenience of pre-packed individual servings during the most hectic mornings. They're also perfect for field trips or outdoor summer daycamps or other occasions when my kids leave their lunchboxes behind and we can't ever get them back. Losing and replacing a $17 reusable aluminum bottle four or five times a year isn't going to do the earth or my pocketbook any good! Besides, now that Capri-Sun has partnered with Terracycle.net, you can actually recycle all your Capri-Sun pouches, and earn some cash for your kids' school in the process. How great is that for minimizing your family's eco-footprint and teaching your kids some valuable lessons at the same time?
Yes, Capri-Sun Sunrise is Making Every Day Better for moms and kids, and guess what? The good folks at BlogHer and Capri-Sun Sunrise are going to make someone's day even better, because they have given me a $250 Visa giftcard to give away to one lucky Bonggamom Finds reader! Here's how to enter:

take a deep breath and drink lots of coffee!!:)
Well I currently only have little ones who aren't yet school age, so my mornings aren't quite that complicated yet. But for us what works best is MOMMY being able to get ready first, because then I feel so much more motivated to get everyone going for the day!!
lukeandbryn@gmail.com
Everyone has to pick out thier clothes (including socks and shoes!) the night before and I check them for weather accuracy.
For me my rule is I cannot sit at the computer until I an showered and dressed. Sure is an incentive for me!
The last tip is I reuse a 1/2 gallon jug so the kids can pour their own milk. Yeah having two jugs in the fridge and washing it out is a bit of a pain but not having to clean up spilled milk is GREAT!!
Have a routine and be consistant with it everyday.
I am a follower on your blog - username jetta1975.
My daughter isn't in school yet, so our mornings are easy-peasy and relaxed. We wake up when we want to, have breakfast, brush our teeth, shower and dress, and decide if we are going to the park, to a friend's for a play date, or are just going to chill at home playing with Play-Doh and such. I know I will miss these days SO MUCH when she is older!!!

Thanks so much for the chance of a great give-a-way...
We did all of the above, but waking up was the hardest, so I would set the alarm, and when it went off, I would turn up the volume on the tape player, and blast our favorite song...no sleeping after that!!
Music made the morning a bit better.
Especially with a sleeping disorder.
I would say try to lay everyone's clothes and things out the night before.. Even set the breakfast table the night before. Could you prepare these Smoothies the night before and place them in the fridge, in the morning give them a stir and off you go...
Good luck!!
Hey the school year is almost over, you can make them everyday now.

My best tip is lay out your clothes the night before.
You can prepare your ingredients for your yogurt breakfast shake in advance. I used to do this with my bread ingredients, so that I could just grab, italian, french, etc. and add the non-shell stable items and yeast and it was done in a flash. That's my advice, prep ahead of time (like when they are at school), and prep a couple of days worth. When AM arrives throw it all in the blender and you are done!
We keep breakfasts simple with cereal and coffee/milk to help make sure we don't run late. It really doesn't take that long to slice a banana into the cereal bowls. I only tackle cooked breakfasts on the weekend.

Very nice contest!! Thanks for the opportunity!
Well, i raised two brothers after my mom died, so I know all about morning routine lol
Our main plan was preparing the night before..of course having all papers signed, bookbags ready, and their outfits selected and ready to go!
I would always get up early(most days) and prepare breakfast. We would do make ahead breakfast casseroles sometimes too so it was much faster in the morning.

I get lunch for the week ready on Sunday nights, and lay out clothes the night before. Cuts down on the morning rush.
I have the diaper bag packed and his clothes picked out the night before, and my clothes are ironed and layed out before I got to bed. I also pack my lunch the night before so it's much less chaotic!

We all pick out our outfits the night before, and lunches are packed the night before too. Good luck!

Do everything possible the night before. Pack lunches, backpacks, after school bags and put it all by the door. Lay out clothes...gather jackets/boots/mittens etc from whehterver tehy were abandoned after school.
I don't have children so I routine is pretty basic. I get up at 6:45am, get dressed, I don't wear like any make up, make my lunch, brush teeth and put curlers in my hair. I work in a Special Needs School so life is pretty hectic for 7 hrs!! :) I'm kind of like a Mom! :) I work with preschoolers & middle School kids also.

I have to take my shower before I get my 2-year-old up. Otherwise it's not happening until naptime! That is my best morning tip. I am looking forward to summer vacation when I won't have to get out the door at any certain time. 5 more school days!
I usually wake up, wash my face, have a quick snack and head over to the gym. Once I come back from the gym, I usually have to make myself a lunch before I head off to work and school. I'm practically out all day until I return from work at 7pm.

each day is different. It just depends when the kids or dog wake me up.
I'm like you - I have my morning routing down to a science, with every minute accounted for to give me the maximum minutes of sleep! Any setback can derail Operation: Get Out The Door On Time! Unfortunately, with two little kids (ages 5 and 3), oppotunities for setbacks abound. And they? Are not very happy about moving quickly. So what I did is to set up a sticker chart. Every morning that they listen and get ready without me losing my cool and reminding them more than twice to do something, they earn a sticker. After they earn five stickers, they get to choose a reward. It's not rocket science and I haven't invented anything new, but it really works for my family!

I agree. get organized the night before, you will be glad you did!
I try to take care of everything the night before. I make sure lunch is packed and I lay my clothes for the next day out already so that I don't fuss over what to wear in the morning.
I pack any snacks in my super huge totebag the night before as well.
My favorite morning routine is when the whole family gets up and walks our dog together, even if it is just ten minutes around the block. We usually manage to do this all together three to four times a week. Mornings are always chaotic and busy as everyone is getting ready to run out the door, so it might seem counterproductive to spend time doing something like this. But what I find is that it actually makes the morning routine much less stressful, and is a great way to connect as a family before everyone goes their separate ways!
Amazing giveaway, thank you!

Be sure to be consistent in your timing. Go to bed at the same time, get up at the same time, regardless of the day. Getting lunches together the night before is huge. No time in the morning for lunch preparation. Thank you and good luck!

Like many, having clothes and bookbags ready the night before was a must. As long as I had time for one cup of coffee without interruption, everthing seemed to run smoothly.
I get up in the morning and wash up, then i get my boys up that way i give them time to get up and also wash up. i have learned that askn them to help me make breakfast calms them down for a while. after breakfast i send them to their room to get ready for their baths-while they take a bath i get as much chores done as possible. i take a break when they get out of bath and play with them a game or something that doesnt consist of too much activity.
My routine,
Wake, brush my teeth, wash my face. Start the tea.
Get the kids up brush teeth, wash faces, The older must make his bed etc and then it's off to cartoons and breakfast.
We do this leisurely so that each person has the time to adjust to being up etc. So I might sit with the kids awhile before starting the morning grooming of washing faces etc.
My Mom always tells me its best to eat within one hour of waking up and to have protein in your morning breakfast!

I've been buying the Capri Sun Sunrisers for a while now - the orange is our favorite and I like that it is fortified - we don't have much of a morning routine - usually I clean up the kitchen at night and sleep in. My son has always been bad to wake up at different times each day in the summer - so I make sure to stock the fridge with stuff a 13 year old can grab and make. Once we all get up, we usually go out for a swim and to water the garden, then the day officially begins.

Well, for a ll my planning, I've discovered the BEST plan is to go with the flow. Sometimes, my sons need a bit of humor to shack off the morning, blahs. A little laughter helps them cooperate and we usually get out the door on time.
it sure would help to make everything the night before...!!!
My only advice is to choose your outfit the night before. I work part-time at a bagel shop & have to be there at 4:45am. So I get up at 3:30, hop in the shower & get ready, then it's out the door at 4:30.

I work together with Jaime to do everything between the two of us - if we didn't have the teamwork it wouldn't get done
Keep it simple. If your kids can get free lunch at school, use it instead of packing their lunches. Same for breakfast--if they get free breakfast, let them eat it at school! Make them get dressed on their own--anything the kids can do on their own, without you having to hover over them, let them do it. If something is not essentially important to take care of the top priority in the time before getting to school (which the priority is getting to school on time), then it can wait until later. I have five kids and we got out the door in 30 minutes to get to school! I got up, used bathroom, threw on clothes, woke up kids, handed them their clothes (which were close at hand already), they got dressed, I woke up babies and threw on clean diapers, I dealt with son's shoes and daughter's hair, grabbed purse and got in car, did 5 minute devotional and took off for school (at the speed limit!) and we got there BEFORE the tardy bell 98% of the time!
But, you're asking to how to do that smoothie thing in the morning without taking up precious morning time? Maybe you could make it after dinner and keep it in the fridge for in the morning. Just wake up and drink it and go. Surely it would keep just fine over one night?
I'm following you.
I am such a creature of habit and it's a good thing in the mornings or I would never make it to work on time. I have my clothes ready, and do everything in the same order every day. Oops - maybe that's OCD and not habit! :)
I make sure to lay out the next day's clothes the night before. Saves time and prevents indecision!
Thanks for the chance!
Make sure backpacks are ready to go the night before. It saves a lot of time in the morning looking for homework, books, etc.

I find that getting as much prepared for the following day the night before is the best remedy for the morning rush. When they were young, everyone's bath time was at night. All the backpacks were packed at night- except for lunch. Clothes were picked out the night before also. It made morning much less of a rush.
My advice: Prepare as much the night before so keep mornings calmer.
This applies to laying out clothes, making lunches, having books/papers already in their bags, etc . . .
sylvieanddudes@yahoo.com
I have three kids (a three-year-old, a two-year-old, and a one-year-old), and I am never “busy” in the mornings, but I’ll try to give advice anyway. I am a stay-at-home mom, so it is rare that I have to be anywhere at a certain time, but if I did, I would make sure that we got up in plenty of time (or schedule apps for late in the day). I’d also bathe the kids the night before, and give them bananas and toaster waffles (w/o syrup) to help speed things along as well. The key is not to have a life of “have to’s” and instead have a life of “want-to’s”—otherwise, you’ll end up feeling hurried and frazzled.

The key to a happy morning is organizing the night before! Place a large basket at the door and fill it before going to bed with what’s needed the next morning: permission slips, school library books, notes to the teacher, backpacks, etc. Prepare lunches and pop them into lunchboxes in the morning. Lay out school clothes, sox, shoes: the complete outfit - and make the child part of the decision-making to avoid conflicts in the morning. Teach your child to use an alarm clock - buy a child-friendly one, and help your child learn to be responsible for waking himself or herself. Mornings will be a lot happier!!

I think doing as much as you can the night before helps tremendously. Also, don't make morning complicated. Usually kids don't need fussy breakfast. Healthy cereals, skim milk, juice, and fruits are easy. (it helps their cheap too)
Planning breakfast the night before hand.
Our morning routine means hubby waking up half an hour before I get up. He starts the coffee pot and gets everything sorted, then keeps the rest of the family on track.
If he's ever ill, the house grinds to a halt!
I have breakfast ready before I wake my son up.
I get up at 5:30 so I have time to exercise, it's easier for me to be sure it's done in the morning!
Caffeine, and lots of it
Hit a bowl of oatmeal with a diet coke to follow
We get everything ready the night before, and this saves us so many headaches in the morning. I have a calendar that we keep updated with the kids fieldtrips, gym and music days, doctors visits etc. Getting organized has really helped me keep the stress down in the mornings.
Our morning routine goes smooth because we plan the night before. My family lets me know what they want for breakfast and I get most of it ready the night before. I like to use the individual cereal boxes or instant oatmeal on the mornings that we are rushed. I always have my clothes picked out the night before. If I don’t plan then it becomes a mad rush. I have one son that is hard to wake up in the morning. I leave his window shade pulled up halfway so the morning sun shines right on him.

follow a routine so everyone knows their part.
Do absolutely everything you can the night before. It's the ONLY foolproof tip I've got. Preparation is the only answer in my house.
During school days, I hit the snooze bar about 4 times before rolling out of bed a little before 7am to get the girls up and moving. We pack bags and pull out clothes the night before for this reason. Breakfast is either a frozen waffle, Pop Tart, or PBJ. Teeth need to be brushed and shoes and coats on by 7:35 to await the carpool driver. We have little room for error in our mornings but I just can't bring myself to get up any sooner.
I get my coffee pot set to go off before I wake so I dont have to deal without caffine. I make sure to do showers for all of us in the evening. I make lunches the night before! Make it so much easier on me in the am's
My mornings are the same except for the breakfast part. Sometimes a quick bowl of cereal or a cereal bar and sometimes if I have 5 minutes I make scrambled eggs. THat's about all I have.
brewerchickey78(at)yahoo.com
I have my mp3 player put on alarm to wake me up at the right time and the night before, I put everything I will need the next day somewhere I will check.
I don't really have any tips to share. Part of my morning routine is to have cold cereal and soy milk for breakfast, feed the baby and take him out for a walk. Thanks for the giveaway!

I don't have kids yet (due in 1 week!) But, when I was a Nanny, I did all the common things, like laying out the kids clothes the night before. Lining up the backpacks, and lunch boxes with most of the stuff the night before. Sometimes, I would even put cereal bowls, spoons and cups on the table the night before, so everything went smoothly.

We don't have a routine at all in the summer. During school, my middle school daughter gets herself up & ready all by herself. She leaves around 7:30. I get up a few minutes before 8 & put in my contacts, etc. Then I get my now 3rd grader up & ready. I make her something quick while she is trying to wake up, while she eats I do her hair. She gets dressed, brushes teeth & flies out the door :)
I try to have them pick out their clothes the night before & backpacks are always ready the night before. Mornings are kind of crazy here because we are not morning people, so the more prepared ahead of time the better!

As for the smoothie, I'd try freezing chopped portions of strawberries, bananas together. Put the yogurt and juice in the blender and store in the fridge over night. Just add your pouch of frozen berries and blend. Add some Bone Ami for extra calcium and baby spinach for your veggies. We do these for our morning snacks and it's always fun to see what I can add to them.
I don't have kids, but these look like a great on-the-go breakfast idea. I think it would be great paired with fresh fruit. I usually just eat yogurt for breakfast myself.

If i know its going to rain i'll leave my rain coat on the chair by the door. I also make my lunch the night before.

Preparation is key. Have outfits picked out night before, baths taken night before, and lunches packed and ready to go. Just get em up and get em out (after breakfast)!
We get to bed at a good time and make things the night before if they are taking their lunch. During the week we usually eat something quick and easy like pop tarts, cereal, toast, etc.

When my daughter was little and in school I found out mornings went smoother when I would have her pick out her outfit the night before.

When I wake up I lay there for about 30 minutes mentally getting ready to get up as I am battling MS and getting out of bed isnt easy.
I then make coffee and check my email.

My best tip for you is do as much as you can the night before. It really helps to have everyone's clothes laid out and everything ready to go
I try to get breakfast ready before my girls come downstairs. If I can have breakfast out on the table, it is much easier than trying to pull it together with them running around the kitchen behind me!
The alarm on my cell phone is programmed for 7am, which is my wake up call. I get up and go to the bathroom, brush my teeth and wash my face. I go over to my daughters room and I give her some medications she takes daily, check her diaper and change it if needed. I then go to my son's room and gently wake him with kisses and a sunny "good morning" whispered softly into his ears. direct him to the bathroom while I hurry off and prepare him a quick breakfast. every few minutes i am calling out "u almost dressed?" and listen to him tell me what article hes putting on now. once he strolls in to eat, i am off to my room to change clothes and get ready to drive my son to school. once i am done, i alert my husband (getting ready for work himself) that im stepping out to take our son to school, so he can keep an eye out for our daughter. i zoom out in our car and drop our son off at school. hurry home, kiss my husband as he heads out to work and plop on the couch for five minutes of breathing techniques to help me relax. then begins the day!

wow that seem pretty stressful! well i have a couple tips for you; first of all before you and your kids go to bed make sure you check ther homework so when its time for school they realize they forgot to do it! next you should also get the lunch done in the morning exept the refregerated things you could add that in, in the morning.also, start your day off with caprisun sunrise! also you could try waking up about 5ive minutes earlier because that will give you time to make breakfast maybe some eggs and toast, like they say breakfast is the most important meal of the day and with addition to caprisun it will help start your day fresh! :)
We make smoothies in the morning, and I make sure to cut up all the fruit the night before and place it in a big tupperware container, so all I need to do in the mornings is dump the fruit in the blender with milk and I'm good to go! Thanks for the giveaway!

Plan the night before, or create a "menu" list on a clip board so the kids have a limited selection for breakfast. Have them pick before bedtime so you know what to fix and hit the ground running.

My morning routine consists of preparing breakfast for my kids while they're still asleep and letting them stay in bed for as long as possible.

Have a designated area for all essential morning items such as backpacks in the car and breakfast table set and food prepared the night before.

I put everything out the night before...clothes in the bedrooms, bathroom things on the counter, bowls and silverware on the table and backpacks by the door. It is the only way we can get out the door on time in the mornings!

No kids in the house here, but I still have a routine. I get up at 5:30, have coffee while I check emails, feed the cats, pack a lunch and I'm off to work at 6:15.

morning routine- pack everything I need to get out the door the night before. Get up, shower, get dressed, and go!

I stumble to the coffee maker, making faces at anyone who may want to say something to me. Some juice wouldn't hurt.
Best tip: don't be too worried about being late. It's not the end of the world if you are a few minutes late, and not stressing about it will actually help you to feel better and be more efficient (and, therefore, not be late!).
My kids also wake up at the crack of dawn. They didn't get this from me! When I was a kid, I'd sleep in as long as I could! lol. So there's no rush in the monring, I make sure my son has all his school stuff ready the night before (clothes, bookbag, etc). The kids eat breakfast and then the oldest showers for school. To speed up breakfast preparation, you could do some things the night before so it takes less time in the morning.

hi, so our philosophy is to get as much ready the night before - have a plan for the meals, the clothes, etc so then its a much smoother operation come morning time. thanks! (freaaa@gmail.com)
My best morning routine tip is to do as much as possible the night before. Know what you want to eat, know what you want to wear and have it out, know what you're going to take and have it ready, and don't stop to watch TV or anything else.

Until last week my shedule was pretty much the same. Little boy up after a goodnight sleep, breakfast, play, coloring artwork, etc. This week, What sleep, the new baby has us on his shedule, but we hope to get things running smoothly.

My secret weapon for getting everyon out in the morning on time is my dear husband!! We work as a team. I have to leave before anyone else, so I get ready while my husband feeds the boys breakfast and makes and packs the lunches. I get them dressed and groomed and make sure all the paperwork is in the backpacks. I leave and my husband puts one of my sons on the bus and takes the other to daycare. I couldn’t do it all by myself, but together, we all get where we need to go on time. Thanks for the giveaway.
I lay out as much as possible the night before -- clothes, breakfast ingredients, whatever.
have everything ready the night before; food, clothes, etc; in the morning just grab and go

We get as much ready the night before as we can, I make breakfast while my daughter is getting ready!
Thanks

We set the alarm 15 minutes earlier this year and lay out all clothing the night before, especially shoes because they always seem to turn up missing in the morning.
My daughter had a horrible habit of needing papers signed for school and waiting to give them to me the minute we were walking out the door. Now we do "Mommy Papers" in the evening after dinner. I ask every evening and sign whatever papers I need to sign or write the checks for field trips. She then has to put it right into her school bag so it doesn't get forgotten in the morning.

I have to say the best things for the mornings would have to be,getting all the kids cloths set out(shoes too),lunches ready. And i like to wake an hour before the kids need to be up so I can have my coffee take a deep breath and get ready for the day so I am relax for whatever the day has in store.
Our morning routines vary but because I have teens, they have been trained to be self sufficient during busy weekdays, by getting things ready the night before. On weekends I prepare breakfast for them, on weekday's I try to keep healthy food on the run available for them
rightonsista@msn.com
My morning routine tip consists of doing everything you can to prpare for the morning the night before. All bathing, putting coffee in the coffee maker, making and packing the lunches, laying out clothing to be worn, getting change ready, you get the idea...This makes for an easier morning.

If you'd like to have those smoothies for breakfast on a weekday, you could probably make it the night before and freeze it in an ice cube tray or some paper cups (which is the less green option). Popsicles for breakfast! That's pretty handy for if you're on the go as well, but kinda messy.
I have to set an alarm clock for myself or I'll never wake up before noon. If I have to be up exceptionally early, I'll prepare everything the night before, which is actually kind of tedious...

My morning starts when the dog starts whining about 15 minutes before the alarm goes off ~ so it's either listening to him for that time or getting up even earlier than I want. Then dog feeding, coffee, this and that, and out the door to the local bagel shop and then to work. Not calm, but that's my life.
Best morning tip--- get everyone to chip in and help out!

I am not a morning person, but we make sure to get up early enough that we're not rushing!
We have routines we have followed for years on school days. Bedtime at 9, clothes ready, backpack ready, shoes in certain place - all things ready. Baths/showers night before. My kids get dressed and completely ready before breakfast so they can relax and eat. I allow them 15-20 minutes for eating. I love making smoothies and muffins or we have cereal and fruit. I save the pancakes and eggs for Saturday morning breakfast. Instant oatmeal or toast is another option my kids have. Quick and nutricious is our schoolday breakfast goal. We get to talk at breakfast - and watch for the bus. Blessings fhartman@frontiernet.net
