Capri-Sun Sunrise is Making Every Day Better for moms and kids -- and they're going to make one lucky reader's day even better with a $250 VISA gift card! Read on to find out how to enter.
Is it morning already? Mornings are not my strong suit. My kids are up with the sun, but I stay in bed until I absolutely have to get up. I jump out of bed between 7:15 and 7:20, get dressed, get The Pea up and dressed, get breakfast, pack everyone's lunch, and walk The Pea to school. We have to be out the door by 8:00AM, so it's all a rush rush rush! My morning routine is like a finely-tuned precision instrument: throw a cog in it (like discovering we've run out of juice or realizing that The Pea didn't do her homework the night before), and everything falls apart.
So I gladly agreed to try and review Capri-Sun's great new option for streamlining my kids' breakfast: Sunrise, a new breakfast juice drink . We buy Capri-Sun's 100% Juice and Roaring Waters drinks all the time, so my kids didn't need to be asked twice to serve as volunteer taste-testers. They quickly slurped down one of each of the 3 flavors -- Orange Wake Up, Tropical Morning, and Berry Tangerine Morning -- gave me the thumbs up, and proceeded to benchpress their own weight in barbells made out of Knex. Okay, I'm kidding, but with all-natural ingredients, added calcium and 100% daily Vitamin C in each serving, Sunrise will send them off to a good start and a great day. I'm not kidding about the thumbs-up part, though. My kids loved all 3 flavors (my personal favorite is the Orange Wake Up). And since Sunrise comes in prepacked fun pouches, The Pea can get her own drink in the mornings instead of wasting precious time waiting for me to finish unloading the dishwasher before I can pour her some juice. When my morning routine gets messed up, less fuss means less stress!
Speaking of that pouch, yes, the eco-friendliness of disposable drink pouches is an issue, but I have no problem with enjoying the convenience of pre-packed individual servings during the most hectic mornings. They're also perfect for field trips or outdoor summer daycamps or other occasions when my kids leave their lunchboxes behind and we can't ever get them back. Losing and replacing a $17 reusable aluminum bottle four or five times a year isn't going to do the earth or my pocketbook any good! Besides, now that Capri-Sun has partnered with Terracycle.net, you can actually recycle all your Capri-Sun pouches, and earn some cash for your kids' school in the process. How great is that for minimizing your family's eco-footprint and teaching your kids some valuable lessons at the same time?
Yes, Capri-Sun Sunrise is Making Every Day Better for moms and kids, and guess what? The good folks at BlogHer and Capri-Sun Sunrise are going to make someone's day even better, because they have given me a $250 Visa giftcard to give away to one lucky Bonggamom Finds reader! Here's how to enter:

Lay out clothes the night before, get up before the kids, set the table for breakfast the night before- basically do all you can the night before to make mornings go smoothly!

We try to get organized at night because the morning chaos is just too much. After homework is done (during school), all bags get repacked right away. Then, before we go up for baths, the kids help me pack their lunch/snack bags for the next day. When we are getting ready for bed, I get out the clothes for the next day (including underwear and socks.) That way they can get dressed themselves pretty quickly. Once they've gone to bed, I put everyone's bookbag in their breakfast seats, lay their vitamins at their seats, and sometimes (if I know we're going to be extra hurried or tired the next morning) I will go ahead and just put a breakfast bar at each seat too.

Bribery works wonders - If me kids get up, get dressed, and eat breakfast without mom nagging, they get an extra 30 minutes of video games after school.
my biggest morning tip is to pick out and lay out the clothes the morning before! LOL but since my LO is still a baby I dont have alot of morning rush yet!

My morning tip would be to get up earlier and do some pilates/yoga workout first thing after getting up, you'll be surprised how everything is much easier after good exercise :)

We try to time the kids getting up so they don't get up at the same time. They each need some attention and some private time in the bathroom in the morning.
I'm not a morning person either, so I'm not sure I have any great tips....but I know I do better when I take my shower at night, and get mine and the boys clothes laid out the night before.
I wish I had a routine. It's pretty much go with the flow for me..
Before getting out of bed each morning, I thank God for my blessings and ask for patience and love to give for the day. I have taught my children since very small to visualize their day ahead before getting out of bed. This seems to help all of us to stay focus and moving out the door in the mornings.

Our mornings are crazy! It helps when I get up for the day when my husband leaves for work at 5am. I stay at home with my 11 month old daughter, and it gives me two or three hours to have me time, bill time, coffee time, and the blessed shower time all before she wakes up. That is my tip...ME TIME. If my day doesn't get started right, the rest just gums itself up.
But we'll share a breakfast once we wakes, and I'll do a sweep-n-clean and open up the house while she plays before we'll head to the tv room to watch our daily sesame street. :) Hopefully then, she'll be ready for a much needed nap for both of us!

My morning routine tip is to just prepare everything the night before, or most everything, because it's much better than forgetting something in the morning and a lot less stressful. We also have a water gun fight in the morning to wake us up.
Have a breakfast idea the night before; lay out all clothes to be worn the night before, also.
Pack the backpacks before going to bed and set table for morning before going to bed.
My morning routine is to get up before the kids and check my email. I feel better starting the day if I have some alone time first.

I try to get as many morning things ready the night before - I'm not a morning person so this really helps. Preparing the coffee maker, making clothes decisions, and setting out important papers to take to school/office the night before all really help the routine.
Pin a note to the inside of the front door for any out of the ordinary things that must be taken for the day.

We try to get clothes laid out, backpacks ready and lunches made the night before. We're not always successful, but when we are, our mornings are pretty smooth!
I make sure my kids get their clothes out the night before, and are aware of what needs to get done in the morning. My 9 y/o daughter sets her own alarm and gets herself up and ready which helps a lot!
The first tip I have is to make sure that everyone, including myself, gets enough sleep each night. My other tip is that we have incorporated getting our clothes out for the next day into our regular bedtime routine. That way if there are any disagreements about what can be worn we don't have to waste the time in the morning arguing.
Lay out all clothes the night before, sometimes I feel too tired to do it but it sure feels good to not have to take the time to decide things in the morning!

I get up after turning off two alarm clocks! I wake up the kids and get them breakfast. I then take them to school and that takes them about 5 times to tell them before they are late! That's about it!

Wake up, inhale coffee, start waking the littles, get snarled at, get their lunches packed and notes written, shove coffee & juice at them run, get them something super easy to wolf down (occasionally), more snarling, shove things in their hands as they run out the door then collapse with a cup of coffee I can actually enjoy - and all before 7 am.

I'm a firm believer in being prepared and everything having it's own place. We get our outfits out and ready the night before. We (meaning my son and I) go through is backpack and planner first thing when he gets home from school, so there aren't any surprises in the morning.

I work nights so it's my nightime routine that's crazy. My wife has the crazy morning routine. My morning routine is come home, eat cereal, say bye to the wife and kids, and go to bed.
I have their school clothes out and their bookbags packed the night before!
Christina - xristya@rock.com - I have everything - jackets, knapsacks, school projects, etc. - laid out the night beforehand so that in the morning it's just clean one's self, eat and go!
We do anything we can the night before - it's the only way to survive the mornings! We pick out clothes, pack lunches, set out things we can for breakfast, pile homework and anything else that needs to go with us by the front door. If we waited until the morning, we'd forget it all in the rush of craziness trying to get out the door!
My only advice is to start the day with a happy & Positive attitude and thoughts.

What about for your breakfast drink, if you cut up and blend the fruit and yogurt in the evenings and freeze it in ice cube trays. Then in the mornings you can blend the cubes with the Capri sun and it will be quicker and frosty too!
We always packed bags and layed out clothes the night before. Helped alot so there was no 'what can I wear' battles and no 'I can't find . . ' searches.
My morning routine is get up and immediately get coffee!
amandasixx at hotmail dot com
I absolutely have to get up about an hour before my kids, to get the day started right. After getting coffee, I set out all that will be needed for the morning meal, making sure vitamins are out, along with food and drinks. :) This way, I'm calm, caffinated and happy when they arrive downstairs. :)
The two biggest things are to get enough sleep and to try to get as many things ready the night before as possible.

I am not a morning person either, so the time-tested advice of doing as much as possible the night before is a must for us. Lunches are packed, clothes picked out and breakfast planned for the kids before bed the night before. Usually they know what we're having and help make whatever it is (cereal, toaster waffles, etc), so trying Capri-Sun Sunrise will be a piece of cake for us!

I wake up long before everyone else so that I can make smoothies for breakfast. What they dont know is that I put veggies in their smoothies. All they know is that they taste good!
In order to have that yummy drink for breakfast on school days you have to have one of the kids do some setting up the night before.
Have one child trim wash and trim the tops off the strawberries. Another child can load the yogurt, and the contents of the Orange Wake Up into the blender and place it in the refrigerator. Your other son can set the table for the morning.
When you wake up in the morning, you can slice the peel and slice the banana and toss the cutup banana into the blender and blend.
In order to get out the door, I have to have everything set up the night before. I iron and set up clothes for myself the night before. It's a pain, but it makes the morning go smoothly.
My morning routine tips is to do as much a possible the night before. I fix my lunch, pack my car, make my shopping list, set out my clothing . . . . the night before - that makes my morning much easier!

I am not the one to ask about speeding up the morning routine. When I get out of the shower, I get right back in bed, until I am hungry enough to get dressed and eat some cereal.
I have to have my coffee in the morning to get me going.

Tried to go asleep as early as possible. Also try to wake up as early as possible. Mornings are always hectic. I like to wake up and shower and get dressed first. Then, it is time to grab breakfast and a cup of tea to wake up. Squeeze in some last minute preparations. And then quickly it is time to go commuting.
my mornings are pretty simple, get up and drink coffee while watching the news. Then I get ready for my grandaughters, who I babysit for all day
I have a calendar/checklist that I print every month and post that on the bathroom door with a pencil hanging on a string so that each task/event is written down for my daughter to follow. Beats having to repeat myself a hundred times!

We're too young to have a getting-ready-for-school routine yet, but when we do have to be somewhere in the morning I set out everything we will need the night before, AND I make a list of everything we'll have to do so that I don't have to think at all in the groggy hours. I would like to establish a more productive routine for our ordinary mornings. Thanks for the giveaway!

The thing that works best for me is to have a "dress rehearsal" - to pretend that it's almost time to go and figure out what we need ie shoes, diaper bag, sippie, etc. and get it all ready to go. Then in the morning, we move alot faster!

I set out all my clothes the night before - that way I'm ready to go in the morning.
I set up my coffee before I go to bed. Set my clothes out too. I always wake up way before my kids, its MY time. Even though its summer, the kids have to make their beds, get dressed and make a breakfast (something simple like toast or cereal) before they can play. If its school time, oh boy, I have to make sure everything is ready, lunches, right down to their shoes set up, and things run nice and smooth.
harmonden[at]wowway[dot]com
To speed up your morning routine, do as much preparation the night before as you can. Set the table for breakfast (I've even put dry cereal into bowls - just add milk and it's ready), lay out clothes, put bookbags by the front door, pack lunches, etc.
I sleep as long as I can and have the coffee programmed so it is ready for me. I lay out all of our clothes and do some lunch prep the night before.
I don't have children, but when I babysit for my sister, I typically use the same strategies to motivate us to wake up and hit the ground running that I use on myself, since I'm equally stubborn most of the time! For example, I always set alarms to play our favorite songs to start us off on the right note, entice them with the smell of their favorite breakfast foods (and use the aroms of coffee from my automatic brewer for myself), and have them look forward to walking my two dogs in the morning, which is a blast for all of us. I've found these techniques are pretty successful, even on rainy mornings and Saturdays. Thanks for the giveaway!

Mornings are rough in my house. My 4 yr old hates getting up. His grumpiness is sometines helped with a little snuggle time, but we're often late. No worries, though - the boss has kids, too :-)
My morning routine is always really hectic. Its a study in chaos. The best tip I have for making things less chaotic is an egg timer. I use it as a motivating tool especially for showers. If I didn't regulate it I would pay millions in water bills. So it becomes kind of a game who can get their shower in under the timer.
I like to get as much done after the kids go to sleep to make the mornings easier. That means setting out the cereal bowls, juice glasses. Just clearing of the kitchen counter in the eve. mentally prepares me to tackle the morning.
Wake them up by any means necessary. Use a water gun if you have to.
I wake my daughter, feed her, play with her, then at naptime, I make a chocolate lowfat frozen yogurt milkshake with cinnamon.

My dad used to make THE BEST smoothies in the morning. The sound of the blender would wake me up if I happened to push the snooze button and then I'd have the smoothie for breakfast. Bananas, honey, milk, Juice (usually Orange or Pinapple/Orange), and nutmeg. Soo good.
I don't have kids so for me the biggest struggle in the morning is getting up in time to have breakfast and not just the horrible coffee at the convenience store. I've tried everything from setting my clock ahead to setting three alarms and it seems my body just knows when the very last second to get up is. Breakfast bars and anything I can grab in 3 seconds is my best tip for taming a hectic morning.
I try to get up early so I can collect my thoughts before the day begins.
I prepare things at night, the get up prepare breakfast make the kids make their bed

I have teens so mornings can get pretty hectic at our house. Our main sanity saving routine is to have all meals readied the night before. My morning routine consists of getting up taking a shower getting myself ready for the day and eating breakfast and checking my emails. Then I wake up my kids. I liek to have the time to myself in the morning.

My best organizational tip is to have everything ready the night before, especially if you aren't a morning person.
Lunches can be made the night before and kept in the fridge, clothes laid out, in some cases baths taken and hair washed, backpacks packed and lined up in the halls.
As far as your blender creation, having everything measured out and stuck in the blender container in the fridge means all you have to do in the morning is stick it on the blender and blend.

What do I have trouble with in the morning? Pokey kids who walk around in a sleep induced coma. it’s like hearding cats in the morning. the thing that helps me out in the morning are the things I do the night before. Lunch is packed and in the fridge and clothes are laid out for the next morning.

I hit the coffee machine which is ready to brew and then make my son's breakfast and lunch and put things ready for that the night before. Just have everything in the kitchen and know what you are doing for the meals you are preparing and have everything close at hand.

To make our mornings easier during the school year I pick out their clothes the night before. Also, I make sure their backpacks are packed except for their lunches. I put their backpacks, jackets and shoes by the door. Mornings go much smoother when I do this!

My morning tip? Set out as much as possible in an orderly fashion. This is great not only for saving time, but also for making sure everything gets done during those foggy mornings. Thanks for the great giveaway!

Pack lunches the night before. I really should read everyone else's for advice :)

I'm no expert. I only have one kiddo, so things aren't so hectic around my house. She eats breakfast in front of the TV while I get most of my cleaning and getting ready done in the morning.
One thing that makes our morning routine easier is that we lay out all of our clothes at night.

My tips are to try to be consistent and go to bed early enough that you can wake up on time the next day, or else everything else gets delayed and rushed in the morning
We lay out all clothes and shoes the night before, and get backpacks ready and set them by the front door.
We even choose what's for breakfast the next morning- it makes a world of difference!

I put an alarm in the kids room so I don't have to waste time waking them up and they pick out their clothes the night before and put them on top of their dresser. They also decide the night before what they will eat. It all seems to help save some time.

We stagger wake up times to allow everyone time to get in the bathroom to get showered and ready rather than have everyone trying to get in there at once.

Now that school is out, I have my kids help me clean up the house in the morning before they are allowed to play. vidomich(at)yahoo(dot)com
I wake up early to walk the dog for half an hour, come back and start breakfast.
My routine is pretty much wake up early to nurse my twins and then wake up and feed the rest of the kids.. hopefully getting something myself afterwards.
My main way for a calm morning is to do as much as I can before I go to bed. Set out what I'm going to wear and everything I'll need and as much breakfast stuff as I can. I don't do mornings well without this.
Best way to ensure you do everything is to make index cards for each family member stating what needs to be done. For example, instead of constantly reminding the younger ones what they need to do, you can hand them a stack of cards that they can accomplish, including 'brush teeth,' 'take vitamins' and 'use bathroom before leaving house.'
